Last week I went to the Audrian Cars and Coffee at Fort Adams in Newport, RI. While I like the events the Audrain Museum puts on, they can get crowded and I end up just another driver in a sea of other automobiles. To top it off, getting there ends up taking longer than I'd like and by the time I arrive I only have an hour or so to catch up with friends and take pictures.
I came across a new event called "Across the Pond" located at Roseland Park in Woodstock, CT while I was scrolling on Facebook. Organized by Sam at Classic Country Drives, it was open to all British and European classic cars. I travelled in my 1972 Triumph TR6 and cruised through the backroads of Rhode Island and Massachusetts until I arrived at the park.
The park was located right on a small lake and the event was right on the shore in a tree lined area. I was impressed with the turnout of British cars and a scattering of cool Volkswagens. The vibe was very laid back, people talking and enjoying everyone's vehicles. The event was from 9AM-11:30AM which gave me time to meet new drivers and to take pictures.
Sam mentioned that this was the second time he was holding the event and was going to hold another one next month around the same time.
Below are some of the highlights of the event. I used my Canon RP mirrorless camera with a Canon RF 23-105mm lens. Attached to the lens was an ND filter.
