This week I had to travel to Lisbon, Portugal for a business trip, my first international trip in twenty years. I knew I only had a limited amount time to see as much as I can, so I focused my touring in the downtown area of Lisbon called Baixa Chiado.
My plane landed early Tuesday morning, my free day in Lisbon before my meetings on Wednesday and Thursday. After a quick breakfast at the hotel, I started walking down Avenida da Libertdade towards downtown Lisbon with my Canon RP and 50mm lens ready. Most of the photos I took focused more on street photography and some of the historic sites, including the Elevador St. Justa and Praca Comerico. The sidewalks all over the city had some sort intricate designs imbedded within them.
Overall Lisbon is a city with that old European feel to it. Lots of neighborhoods carved up in the hills, outdoor restaurants with the smells of Portuguese cuisine pouring from their kitchens and friendly people in a relaxed atmosphere. If I had more time I would have explored the other features of this cool city. Something to look forward to in the future.
